Onboarding
Before accessing WeWire's services, businesses must complete a due diligence process. This verification examines your business operations, ownership structure, and intended use of our financial services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and enable us to provide appropriate services.
WeWire Business Account: Your Complete Onboarding Guide
Welcome to WeWire, your trusted partner for global payment solutions. This guide walks you through the process of setting up your business account and explains everything you need to get started.
Getting Started
The first step in joining WeWire is creating your account. You can register with either your business email address or through Google sign-in. During this initial setup, you must provide your business's country of operation and a contact phone number. When creating your password, make it strong and secure by including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character, with a minimum length of eight characters.
Essential Business Information
Once your initial account is created, we'll need to understand more about your business. You'll provide your official registered business name and, if you operate under a different name, your trading name. We'll ask for a clear description of your business activities and your sector of operation. This helps us tailor our services to your specific needs. You'll also need to share your business's incorporation date, tax identification number, and physical operating address. While not required, including your business website can help expedite the verification process.
Prohibited Businesses
WeWire maintains strict operational standards and, as such, certain business activities are prohibited from using our services. Find out more about the types of businesses we do not support here
Prohibited Countries
WeWire does not offer services to businesses based in certain countries due to compliance with international regulations and policies. Operations in territories subject to sanctions or those lacking necessary legal frameworks are not supported, you can find a full list of countries listed here.
Document Requirements
The documentation needed varies based on your business structure. All businesses must submit their registration certificate and recent proof of address, such as a utility bill or lease agreement dated within the last three months. You'll also need to provide a business bank statement and complete our Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) form.
For partnerships, you must include your partnership agreement. Sole proprietors need to submit documentation showing the business owner's details. Incorporated companies have additional requirements, including their certificate of incorporation and comprehensive information about directors and shareholders.
Director Information
Each director of your business plays a crucial role in the verification process. For every director with at least 20% shareholding, we need to collect their full name, date of birth, and current residential address. Directors must provide a clear copy of a government-issued identification document - this can be a passport, national ID card, or driver's license. We'll also need their contact information, including both email and phone number, to ensure secure communication.
Verification Timeline and Process
After submitting all required information and documents, our compliance team carefully reviews everything. This process typically takes at most 72 hours. During this time, we verify the authenticity of documents, conduct necessary background checks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. We may reach out if we need additional information or clarification.
Your Business Account Benefits
Upon successful verification, your WeWire business account opens up a world of possibilities.
